Three Bulldogs Place at Individual Regional!

On Saturday, February 16 at Clarkston High School five Bulldog wrestlers competed at the Individual Regional Tournament.  Of the five Bulldogs who participated, three are moving on to the Individual State Tournament at Ford Field on Friday, March 1 - Saturday, March 2.  Rylan Watson (freshman), Caleb Youngblood (freshman) and Dominic Todaro (senior) all placed in the top 4 to qualify for the Individual State Tournament.  This is the first time in school history that Romeo has qualified two freshman in the same year. All five wrestlers represented themselves and their team very well.  There are many highs and lows throughout the regional tournament, but, all five can hold their heads up after wrestling with courage, determination, and heart all day.  It was another exciting day of wrestling where our Bulldog wrestlers competed like the champs they are with the support from teammates and parents.

Bulldogs Qualify Five for Individual Regionals

The Romeo grapplers ended up having a pretty good day on Saturday, February 10 at Clarkston HS for the Individual District Tournament.  The Bulldogs had only four seniors of the 14 wrestlers entered in the district tournament. Any wrestler who places in the top four moves on to the Individual Regional Tournament.  The top four at regionals move on to the Individual State Tournament at Ford Field. While some wrestlers are realizing their dreams and goals, others are realizing the finality of their season and, in some cases, their wrestling career.  It is a very exciting time of the year for wrestlers. We all train for this time of the year. When guys put so much time and effort into the sport they love, there is a lot on the line. What even makes it tougher is it is a first round knockout.  It was a proud day overall because the Romeo wrestlers competed well, the fan support was great, and we still have five alive!

Bulldogs Place 3rd at MAC Red/White

The MAC Red/White tournament hosted by Utica Ford High School combines 12 of the top teams from Macomb County.  The Bulldogs were well-represented with 13 of the 18 varsity wrestlers earning top 6 places and 10 out of 10 JV wrestlers earning medals.  It was a good ending to the regular season. Now the attention turns to moving on as a team and as individuals to the state tournaments.
