Romeo Grapplers compete well at Crestwood

The Romeo wrestlers went 4-1 at Dearborn Crestwood on Saturday, January 26.  The tournament featured some of the top teams and wrestlers from Wayne County, but, the Bulldogs are no stranger to tough competition.  The Bulldogs started against the always solid Southgate Anderson Titans. The dual meet went down to heavyweight. With Romeo clinging to a 33-28 lead, Jonathon LaFave earned a pin to seal the 39-28 victory for the Bulldogs.  Up next was Wyandotte Roosevelt. The past few years Wyandotte and Romeo have had some hard-fought, exciting dual meets. This year was NO exception! Romeo won the first 4 matches to get off to a great start before the Bears took the next 6 in a row.  The Bulldogs won the next 3 matches to go up 37-33 heading into the final match. Roosevelt pulled out a big win in the match and the dual meet to hand Romeo their only defeat of the day 37-39.
