Wrestlers travel to Ohio

The Bulldog Wrestlers competed in one of the best tournaments in the midwest at Defiance College in Ohio on December 16 and 17.  The Fricker's Duals featured nationally ranked and many state ranked teams along with numerous highly ranked individual wrestlers.  Romeo was hurt by injuries and other miscellaneous circumstances that left them short three weigh classes.  The guys who competed did a fantastic job, but, it was hard to win dual meets giving up 3 or 4 voids every match.  The Bulldogs lost all 10 dual meets, but, gained a ton of experience that will pay off at the end of the year.  Here are the team scores: 

Bulldog Grapplers win Dual Tourney

The varsity wrestlers took first place in the Romeo Bulldog Team Duals on Saturday, December 10, 2016.  Romeo won their pool play with a  wins over Sterling Heights Stevenson 60-21, Lake Orion 66-13, and Imlay City 51-29.  The Bulldogs had a 58-19 victory over Avondale in the crossover before defeating Ortonville Brandon in the championship 39-30.  A full line-up and a team effort got it done.  Leading the way were captains Trevor Houghton, Austen Malczewski and Byan Carie who were undeated on the day.  Matthew Cali, Cameron Sherman Hunter Garrisi, Will Gaborek, and Brandon Kehren ended the day at 4-1 each.  Also scoring were: Tym Riley, Christian Robbins, Dan Szalony, Connor Verburg, and Gavin Miller.
